Please come visit with us!

Feel free to bring family, friends and other neighbors.

National Night Out began in 1984 as an effort to promote involvement in crime prevention activities, police-community partnerships, neighborhood camaraderie and to send a message to criminals to let them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.

This program culminates annually on the first Tuesday of August. This activity involves millions of people in all fifty states. Please be sure to participate by turning on your porch light that evening. We hope to see you Tuesday, August 1, 2017.

Carrie Becker, President & the Board of HWSNA.

May 12, 2016 Meeting

The May 12, 2016 HWSNA meeting will be at 7:00 p.m. at Douglas Avenue United Methodist Church (corner of Douglas and Governor).  Director of Public Works, Mark Mahoney, will be our guest speaker. Watch for the newsletter with more details which will be posted shortly.

Thank you to all of our residents who have dropped off aluminum cans for recycling to our treasurer Sharon Riffey at 1407 Mossman.  Please feel free also to attend the May 12th meeting and bring any aluminum cans to that gathering.

At the end of 2015, the terms for our NPO Jennifer Howard and Jonathan Wingerter ended.  We very much appreciate their involvement with our neighborhood and thank them for their service.  We welcome our new NPO’s Daniel Weiss and Matt Goulet.  The previous numbers have been transferred to our new NPO’s and can be found in another section of our website.

Congratulations also to several HWSNA area businesses who were voted “Best” in Springfield recently:  Best Pet Groomer, Suds and Pups, at 235 N. English and Best Barber – Craig Jones at Jones’ Chop Shop, 1022 West Lawrence.  Congrats also to runner up in the Best Thrift Store category to Vintage Pop at 1135 West Governor.
